To increase awareness of the importance of environmental liability and provide assistance to the local officials who deal with this issue, the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has designed the Environmental Liability Outreach (ELO) Web Template.

A Web page template is a single Internet Web page that provides information on a selected topic and can be downloaded and customized to an existing Web site. The template provides fact sheets on various types of environmental liability, federal environmental regulatory information and updates pertinent to local governments, a list of resources related to environmental liability and management, and access to inquiry-response services dedicated to environmental liability questions.^* All of the resources accessible through the ELO Web Template have been developed and compiled to assist local governments determine, understand, and reduce or eliminate their potential environmental liability. The ELO project is funded by the Public Entity Risk Institute (PERI).
